The artist has modelled the mouth on a that of venomous snake, not knowing that pythons do not have fangs, just rows of backward facing, needle-sharp teeth. The background shading of the sky shows the printer's inking ball shadow rings typical of the period. It has not  been possible completely to remove this artefact.
